NONYA GRENADER, FAIA

Nonya Grenader, FAIA is principal of her own small firm. Her recent architectural projects have received design awards from the American Institute of Architects, Houston and the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance. Her work combines living and working spaces with a focus on client needs and spatial simplicity.

Nonya taught at Rice University, School of Architecture from 1994 to 2021. At Rice, she was Professor in Practice and served as Associate Director of the Rice Building Workshop from 1996-2016. Her work with students in the Rice Building Workshop resulted in the NCARB Prize for the “Integration of Practice and Education” from the National Council of Registration Boards and the “Collaborative Practice Award” from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture.

She has received the "Educator Award" from the Texas Society of Architects and the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the American Institute of Architects, Houston.
