Nonya Grenader, FAIA, Recent Projects

Nonya Grenader is principal of her own small firm. Her most recent three architectural projects have each received design awards from the American Institute of Architects, blending living and working spaces with a focus on client needs and simplicity of spaces.

She has taught at Rice University, School of Architecture for the past thirteen years. At Rice, she is Professor in Practice and Associate Director of the Rice Building Workshop. She has received the “Educator Award” from the American Institute of Architects. Her work with students in the Rice Building Workshop has resulted in the NCARB Prize for the “Integration of Practice and Education” from the National Council of Registration Boards and the “Collaborative Practice Award” from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture.

She is currently President of the Rice Design Alliance and has been a long-time contributor to RDA’s award-winning publication, Cite: the Architecture and Design Review of Houston.
